The Bahrain International Investment Park (BIIP) was established in 2005 by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) as the Kingdom’s flagship strategic site to attract multinationals and export-orientated indigenous companies to locate manufacturing and professional services in Bahrain. The BIIP is one of seven industrial areas owned by the MOIC; each area caters to various business and investment needs.
In line with national industrial strategy, the Government of Bahrain has developed the Bahrain International Investment Park (BIIP) to provide a world-class location for internationally focused businesses servicing regional and international markets.
The BIIP comprises 2.5 million m2 of fully serviced land, with high-quality telecommunications and transport connectivity. The Park is strategically located in close proximity to Khalifa bin Salman Port, the Bahrain International Airport, and the causeway to Saudi Arabia.
The BIIP has achieved considerable success to date winning quality investments from world-class multinational companies including multiple investments from around the world: food producer Mondelez from the US, Arla from Denmark, BASF and RMA from Germany, Reckitt Benckiser from the UK and CPIC/Abahsain a JV from China and Saudi Arabia. BIIP clients employ nearly 5,000 people, of which over 25% are Bahrainis.
BIIP works under the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) and in close collaboration with the other key stakeholders to position Bahrain as the location of choice for investment in the Region. BIIP is the flagship location for investment in Bahrain in the manufacturing and professional services space. The number of quality investments in the BIIP to date is a testament to this.
